BMW which stands for Bavarian Motor Works is a German automobile and motorcycle manufacturer. BMW has an extensive history, dating back to World War l when BMW was ordered to halt production of aircraft engines under the terms written during the construction of the Versailles Armistice Treaty. Subsequently, BMW shifted gears, so-to-speak, and began focusing on the production of motorcycles in 1923, which was followed shortly thereafter by the production and design of automobiles in 1929. The circular blue and white emblem of BMW is a portrayal of the movement of an aircraft propeller, representing the history of the company; using their logo to portray the original intention and purpose of Bavarian Motor Works. Their extensive history is as exquisite as their automobiles; past and present. Bridgewater Motor works is proud to have the knowledge and tools required to service and repair such elegant vehicles; rich with history and purpose.
Audi’s start began in 1899 with August Horch. Amidst internal disputes in the company that Horch himself had created, he was ousted from his company in 1910. Despite this set-back, Horch began his second company in Zwickau, Germany. After he was sued for trademark infringement for continuing to use the Horch brand in his new company, he chose to use the Latin translation of Horch, which means “listen” and we now know the German manufactured vehicles as Audi. These German manufactured vehicles are known for their power ratings. In the 1980’s they released the “Quattro” which placed Audi at the forefront of technology for their time. Audi, over the century, has built a reputation on quality and less on aesthetic appeal, although their sleek design places them in the category of practical and sustainable luxury vehicles. Bridgewater Motor Works, LTD. is proud to service and repair vehicles whose manufacturers have the same zest for quality in their production as we do in their repair and up-keep.
Mercedes-Benz is the world’s oldest automobile manufacturer; their production of automobiles, motor vehicles and engines began over a century ago. Mercedes-Benz is a German manufactured vehicle whose roots stem back to 1886 when Karl Benz created the first petrol-powered car. In 1924, Benz & Cie and Daimler Motoren Gesellschaft signed an “Agreement of Mutual Interest”. In 1926, the two companies officially merged as Daimler-Benz AG; their vehicles would be known as Mercedes-Benz. In most recent years, the company name has been changed to Daimler AG. Mercedes-Benz vehicles are known for their attention to detail, durability and high-quality engineering; advanced in technology and flawless in aesthetic appeal. The Bridgewater Motor Work’s team is proud to service and repair vehicles produced by the world’s oldest automobile manufacturer. We enjoy working on their complex engineering as much as you enjoy driving them.
Much like Volvo, Saab is a Swedish manufactured automobile. Saab is an acronym for Svenska Aeroplan Aktiebolaget. The Saab Company was originally established in 1937 for the sole purpose of engineering and producing aircrafts for the Swedish Air Force. As the current war was coming to an end, the company expanded and revamped their market. And so, in 1944, “Project 92” was created to produce the first Saab passenger automobile; the rest is history. Saab is known for its success in advanced ergonomics; creating their model to match the current functional purpose of its drivers. Saab has also paved the way in safety standards, turbo-charge engines and innovation. In most recent years, Saab has taken lengths to ensure green technology as a leading determinant in their production when engineering their automobiles. Bridgewater Motor Works, LTD. is proud to service and repair vehicles whose manufacturers have remained in-tune with the changing times and who have placed economic and eco-friendly concerns at the forefront of their production and design.
When people think of Volvo, they often think: safety. Founded in 1927, Volvo is a Swedish automobile manufacturer. You often see older (sometimes much older) Volvo’s parading the streets; they were designed to last, and they do. The Volvo design team is credited for the invention of the “safety cage” which is why when you think of Volvo, you think of safety. The concept behind the safety cage was that passengers would be protected by a strong, all encompassing frame which would distribute the force of a crash away from the passenger and be absorbed by either the hood or the trunk of the car, protecting its passengers. The Volvo design team did not stop there; they made their mission – your safety – including in their design: padded dashboards, seatbelt and child-seat safety provisions and Impact Protection Systems (IPS), to name a few. Along with modern technology over the most recent years of their distribution, Volvo has only continued to modify their vehicles with the passenger and driver’s safety at the forefront of their production. Bridgewater Motor Works is proud to service and repair vehicles manufactured by a company whose priority is the same as ours; the safety of our customer’s.
Volkswagen was originated in Nazi, Germany, during the 1930’s. Hitler believed that just about everybody should be able to afford a vehicle; the design was that ordinary German’s would be able to purchase an automobile through the concept of a savings scheme – “Society for the preparation of the German People’s Car”. Today, Volkswagen is among the top three automobile producers in the world. Through many changes in production over the years, VW has returned time and again to newer versions of their classic vehicles. They have introduced light-duty diesel engines in their TDI. In concurrence with U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, it is reported that 4 out of the 10 most fuel efficient vehicles for sale in the United States are produced, manufactured and sold by Volkswagen; impressive statistics in today’s economic hardships. Bridgewater Motor Works, LTD. is proud to service and repair a functional European imported brand of automobiles that puts money back in the customer’s wallet through thought, design and implementation.
